Under UK law, Investment Professionals are the following: (a) an authorised person; (b) an exempt person; (c) any other person whose ordinary activities involve him in carrying on certain UK controlled activities for the purposes of a business carried on by him or her who it is reasonable to expect will carry on that activity for the purposes of a business carried on by him/her; (d) a government, a local authority or an international organisation; (e) a person who is a director, officer or employee of another person in any of the categories of (a) to (d) where they are operating in their capacity as such in relation to a controlled activity.
